Overview
Expense Ninja helps you track spending from receipts and manual entries. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Local storage
Expense, budget, category, and preference data is stored locally on your device by default. We do not upload your receipt images or expense ledger to our servers. When you convert currencies, the app requests public exchange rates from jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) and currency-api.pages.dev. That request includes your device’s IP address and the currency code, not your expenses or payment card.
Camera and photos
Camera and photo library access are used only to capture or pick receipts for on-device text recognition. Images stay on your device unless you choose to share them elsewhere.
Biometrics
Face Lock uses the system biometric APIs (Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint). Biometric templates never leave the secure hardware and are never sent to Expense Ninja.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, we may send local alerts about budgets, scans, insights, and billing. You can change or revoke permission anytime in system Settings and inside the app.
Account and authentication
When you sign in, authentication is handled by Firebase Auth (email, Google, or Apple on iOS). We store the account identifiers needed to keep you signed in on this device.
Analytics and crash reports
We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand app usage and fix crashes. This may include app activity, device info, your account ID, and the email address on your account. Data is processed by Google on our behalf and is not sold or used for advertising. Delete my data clears those identifiers on the device. Reports already sent to Google can remain until Google’s retention period ends.
Subscriptions and billing
Premium purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive entitlement status (active, trial, cancelled) but never your full payment card details.
No sale of personal data
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share expense contents with advertisers.
Deleting your data
Use Personal Info → Delete my data to sign out, delete your Firebase account when available, and wipe expenses, budgets, categories, and preferences on this device. You can also clear app storage or uninstall.
Children
Expense Ninja is for people 13 and older. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
